Household cleaning tasks

A regular household-cleaning quote can include agreed domestic tasks such as:

• Cleaning bathroom and toilet fixtures and reachable surfaces
• Wiping kitchen benches, sinks, cooktops, splashbacks and appliance exteriors
• Vacuuming and mopping agreed floors
• Dusting the reachable household surfaces named in the quote
• Emptying household bins when included in the scope
• Laundry or bed-linen tasks when they are specifically agreed

The written quote records what is included. Repairs, maintenance, gardening, pest work, hazardous material, clinical cleaning and tasks outside ordinary domestic cleaning need a different service or separate assessment.

Regular cleaning visits

Regular visits may be weekly, fortnightly or at another agreed frequency after your tasks and the time needed are reviewed. Your quote will set out the included work, price, timing, exclusions, access instructions and invoicing contact. Any changes are agreed before a later visit.

One-off, deep and vacate cleaning

A one-off clean is a defined single visit. A deep clean uses a broader agreed domestic task list and may need more time or a review of the home’s condition. Both are separately scoped and are not automatically payable from an NDIS plan.

For vacate or end-of-tenancy cleaning, agree the tasks and a separate quote from your household-cleaning arrangement. The NDIS excludes exit cleaning that is a direct cost of meeting a tenancy agreement. If you also need routine disability-related household cleaning around a move, describe those tasks separately and ask your authorised funding contact to check them against your plan before booking. A vacate quote does not promise a bond or inspection result.

Using your NDIS funding

NDIS household cleaning may be funded when the support is disability-related and fits the participant’s approved plan. Registration or a request for cleaning does not by itself confirm funding. The participant or authorised funding contact should confirm the proposed support and how the plan is managed before service starts.

For Household Tasks, Smurfettes Service Pty Ltd is a registered NDIS provider. Registration does not decide whether an individual support is payable, and the agreed household tasks still need a written quote and invoice.

How your NDIS plan is managed

• Self-managed: the participant or nominee confirms the service fits the plan, arranges the quote and receives the invoice.
• Plan-managed: provide the plan manager’s billing details and confirm the proposed support before booking.
• NDIA-managed: registered-provider and agency booking requirements apply. Smurfettes is registered for Household Tasks, but the individual support still needs to fit the participant’s plan.

Cleaning in shared homes

The scope should identify the participant’s rooms, any agreed shared areas and the domestic tasks related to the participant’s needs. It should not shift ordinary work belonging to other residents, a housing provider or another support service onto the participant’s funding.
