Household cleaning

Explore these local guides for regular or occasional help with domestic cleaning in New South Wales. Tell us which rooms and household tasks you would like help with.

The scope for a shared home should identify the participant’s rooms, agreed shared areas and domestic tasks related to their needs. It should not shift ordinary work belonging to other residents, a housing provider or another support service onto the participant’s funding.

The written quote records what is included. Repairs, maintenance, gardening, pest work, hazardous material, clinical cleaning and tasks outside ordinary domestic cleaning need a different service or separate assessment.

Deep cleaning

A more detailed clean needs a separate review of the home’s condition, the domestic tasks requested and the time involved. Use the guide below to help explain what needs attention.

Spring cleaning

For spring cleaning, list the rooms, task limits and priorities for a one-off visit. Check with the participant or authorised funding contact whether the requested disability-related support fits the plan and current funding rules.

One-off cleaning

Need help for a single visit? Tell us which tasks matter most, your preferred timing and any time or budget limit. The written quote should make clear what is included, what is excluded and how lower-priority tasks will be handled if the agreed limit is reached.

Vacate cleaning

For vacate or end-of-tenancy cleaning, agree the tasks and a separate quote from your household-cleaning arrangement. The NDIS excludes exit cleaning that is a direct cost of meeting a tenancy agreement. If you also need routine disability-related household cleaning around a move, describe those tasks separately and ask your authorised funding contact to check them against your plan before booking. A directory page or quote does not promise a bond or inspection result.

Laundry assistance

Explore these guides for help with household washing, drying, folding or linen. The tasks you need will be agreed in writing before the visit. Tell us whose items are included, the approximate loads, washing and drying facilities, care instructions and any product sensitivities. Dry-cleaning, alterations and textile restoration are separate specialist services.

What to include when you contact us

  • Confirm the exact service address and preferred timing.
  • List the priority rooms, domestic tasks and anything that should not be touched.
  • Share practical access or communication instructions needed for the visit. Keep access codes and key locations private until a secure arrangement is agreed.
  • Provide the authorised invoicing contact and explain how the participant’s plan is managed if NDIS funding may be used.

Using your NDIS funding

Whether a proposed disability-related household support fits NDIS funding depends on the participant’s plan and the applicable funding criteria. For supports paid from NDIA-managed funding, participants use registered NDIS providers. Plan-managed and self-managed participants may use registered or unregistered providers, subject to their plan, management arrangement and any support-specific registration rule. A plan manager must be registered. Smurfettes Service Pty Ltd is a registered NDIS provider for Household Tasks. Registration does not decide whether an individual support is payable, and the agreed household tasks still need a written quote and invoice.

Your written quote should confirm the address, agreed tasks and priorities, visit length or frequency, price, exclusions, access instructions, cancellation terms and invoicing contact. Check it before accepting, including who can approve the work and any responsibilities shared with other people or services. Funding and appointment arrangements must be confirmed separately.

Find information about plan management, referrals and cleaning in shared or supported homes. These national guides explain the wider arrangements; your own plan, requested work and address still need to be checked.
