NDIS laundry assistance can help with agreed household washing and linen tasks when the support relates to a participant’s disability and fits their plan. Start with the tasks, handling instructions and a written quote.
Laundry tasks you can discuss
- Sorting participant-authorised clothing, towels or bed linen
- Loading and operating the household washing machine
- Drying items using the method agreed for the home
- Folding and placing clean items in the agreed location
- Changing bed linen when it is written into the service scope
The final task list depends on the home’s setup, available equipment, safety requirements and the participant’s instructions.
Information needed for a quote
Provide the service address, expected number of loads, access to the washing machine and drying facilities, any detergent or handling instructions, preferred timing, and where clean items should be left. Identify any item that should not be washed or moved.
What household laundry assistance does not include
A domestic laundry quote does not include laundering another resident’s belongings, commercial loads, dry-cleaning or repair services, handling hazardous or contaminated items, or disposal services. Ask about any other task before the quote is prepared.
NDIS funding and provider registration
Smurfettes Service Pty Ltd is a registered NDIS provider for Household Tasks. Registration does not make every laundry request payable from an NDIS plan. The participant or authorised funding contact should confirm that the proposed disability-related support fits the plan and management arrangement.
The quote and invoice should identify the agreed participant-authorised tasks, price, service date or frequency, and invoicing contact.
Laundry in a shared home
Identify which clothing and linen belong to the participant and any agreed task involving shared linen. Tasks that are another resident’s responsibility or are assigned to a SIL or housing provider should not be duplicated.
