Household cleaning

Browse the household-cleaning guides for regular or occasional help at home. In a shared property, tell us which rooms and shared areas are included and who can approve the work.

The scope for a shared home should identify the participant’s rooms, agreed shared areas and domestic tasks related to their needs. It should not shift ordinary work belonging to other residents, a housing provider or another support service onto the participant’s funding.

The written quote records what is included. Repairs, maintenance, gardening, pest work, hazardous material, clinical cleaning and tasks outside ordinary domestic cleaning need a different service or separate assessment.

Ask about another area

Links labelled “Ask about” open our contact page. Links labelled “guide” open an existing local cleaning guide. Include your address and requested tasks when asking for a quote.

Deep cleaning

For a more detailed clean, describe the rooms, current condition, priority tasks and anything excluded from the request. Flag mould, hazardous material, pests, repairs or difficult-to-reach areas, as these may need a specialist.

Spring cleaning

For spring cleaning, list the rooms, task limits and priorities for a one-off visit. Check with the participant or authorised funding contact whether the requested disability-related support fits the plan and current funding rules.

One-off cleaning

Need help for a single visit? Tell us which tasks matter most, your preferred timing and any time or budget limit. The written quote should make clear what is included, what is excluded and how lower-priority tasks will be handled if the agreed limit is reached.

Vacate cleaning

For vacate or end-of-tenancy cleaning, agree the tasks and a separate quote from your household-cleaning arrangement. The NDIS excludes exit cleaning that is a direct cost of meeting a tenancy agreement. If you also need routine disability-related household cleaning around a move, describe those tasks separately and ask your authorised funding contact to check them against your plan before booking. Record the property condition, requested areas, inspection timing and exclusions for the quote. A directory page or quote does not promise a bond refund or inspection result.

Laundry assistance

Tell us which washing, drying, folding or linen tasks you need help with, the approximate loads and the facilities available. Include product sensitivities, care instructions and where clean items should go. Dry-cleaning, repairs and specialist textile treatment are separate services.

What to include when you contact us

  • Confirm the exact service address and preferred timing.
  • List the priority rooms, domestic tasks and anything that should not be touched.
  • Share practical access or communication instructions needed for the visit. Keep access codes and key locations private until a secure arrangement is agreed.
  • Provide the authorised invoicing contact and explain how the participant’s plan is managed if NDIS funding may be used.

Using your NDIS funding

NDIS funding may cover cleaning or laundry only when the support is related to the participant’s disability, meets the applicable NDIS funding criteria and is in line with the participant’s plan. Supports paid from NDIA-managed funding must be delivered by a registered NDIS provider. For relevant Household Tasks paid from plan-managed or self-managed funding, participants may generally choose a registered or unregistered provider, subject to their plan and management arrangement. The funding method does not make an excluded task payable. A plan manager must be registered. Smurfettes Service Pty Ltd is a registered NDIS provider for Household Tasks. Registration does not decide whether an individual support is payable, and the agreed household tasks still need a written quote and invoice.

Your written quote should confirm the address, agreed tasks and priorities, visit length or frequency, price, exclusions, access instructions, cancellation terms and invoicing contact. Check it before accepting, including who can approve the work and any responsibilities shared with other people or services. Funding and appointment arrangements must be confirmed separately.

Find information about plan management, referrals and cleaning in shared or supported homes. These national guides explain the wider arrangements; your own plan, requested work and address still need to be checked.
