Set the one-off cleaning priorities
The visit should focus on the most useful tasks. Depending on the written quote, the list may include:
- priority kitchen or bathroom surfaces
- vacuuming, mopping and dusting in named rooms
- a defined catch-up list for one visit
Agreed scope: A one-off household clean is separate from bond, inspection or property-sale outcomes. Extra areas, specialist treatment and work not listed in the quote require a separate assessment.
Confirm access for the chosen date
Provide the exact address, entry instructions, parking limits and the contact available on the day. Mention stairs, lifts, pets or restricted rooms when they affect the appointment.
A preferred date is a request, not a confirmed booking. Wait for written confirmation of availability and the agreed arrival arrangement.
Identify the contact for decisions on the day
Name the participant or authorised contact who can answer an access question or approve a scope change. Include the preferred contact method in the service information.
If that person is unavailable, the cleaner should stay with the written priorities. A one-off date does not justify an unapproved change to time or price.
Decide whether any later help is separate
A one-off visit does not create an ongoing schedule. If future household cleaning may be useful, ask for that service and frequency to be quoted separately.
Keeping the decisions separate makes the single visit easier to assess and prevents a future appointment being assumed from this enquiry.
