Household cleaning for veterans across Australia. Veterans, family members, carers and authorised contacts can tell us the service address, priority domestic-cleaning tasks and preferred timing. We can discuss the work and provide a free, no-obligation written quote. We will confirm the agreed work and appointment details before booking.
Household cleaning for veterans
Tell us which ordinary household tasks would be useful and which areas need attention. A written quote can set out tasks such as:
- Kitchens: benchtops, stovetop, sink, cupboard fronts and floors.
- Bathrooms: toilet, shower, bath, basin, tiles and mirrors, cleaned using suitable agreed products.
- Living areas and bedrooms: dusting, vacuuming, mopping and tidying.
- Laundry help: washing, drying, folding and changing linen, where included in the agreed work.
For repeat visits, we aim to arrange the same cleaner where possible. Discuss the tasks, access, frequency and appointment time before confirming each arrangement.
How Veterans’ Home Care funding works
Veterans’ Home Care (VHC) can include domestic assistance after an assessment. A Veteran Card may allow an assessment, but it does not by itself approve cleaning or appoint a provider. Call the VHC assessment agency on 1300 550 450 to discuss eligibility and needs. If services are approved, the VHC Care Plan names the tasks, approval period, co-payment and contracted provider. Confirm that plan and provider before treating a Smurfettes quote or booking as VHC-funded. Co-payments may apply. DVA Household Services compensation is a separate pathway; if it has already been approved under the MRCA, VHC domestic assistance is not also available.
Smurfettes also provides private household cleaning across Australia. Ask for a free, no-obligation written quote setting out the tasks, price, access and timing. A private quote does not establish a DVA entitlement.

Where to find service information
Smurfettes provides cleaning across Australia. These city guides help you describe the service address and tasks. We will confirm appointment details for your request; any VHC-funded provider assignment follows the Care Plan:
- DVA cleaning Perth, with information for Perth and other Western Australian areas including Rockingham, Mandurah and Bunbury.
- DVA cleaning Gold Coast, for Gold Coast household enquiries.
- DVA cleaning Brisbane, with information for Brisbane, Logan, Ipswich and bayside areas.
- DVA cleaning Sydney, with information for Parramatta, Penrith and the Sutherland Shire.
- DVA cleaning Melbourne, for Melbourne-area household enquiries.
- DVA cleaning Adelaide, with information from Salisbury to Noarlunga.
For Canberra, Hobart, Darwin or a regional address, tell us the address, tasks and preferred timing so we can discuss a quote. A VHC-funded visit still depends on the assessment, Care Plan and contracted provider.
For families and carers
You can help a veteran describe the cleaning request and ask questions about a quote. Check who is authorised to make service and payment decisions, and share only the household and care details needed for the proposed work. Please leave keys, access codes and private-room instructions out of the initial enquiry. Once the booking is confirmed, agree with us who needs any access instructions and how to share them securely.
What to confirm with Smurfettes
- Respectful household work: agree the tasks, products, personal boundaries and any areas to leave untouched.
- Police checked and insured: our cleaners are police checked and insured.
- Cleaner continuity: tell us if the same cleaner for repeat visits is important; we aim to arrange this where possible.
- Written scope and price: review the agreed tasks, exclusions, access, cancellation terms and payment route before booking.
- One national enquiry point: call 1300 525 336 and provide the exact service address.
Frequently asked questions
Does a Veteran Card automatically fund cleaning?
No. DVA describes eligibility for a VHC assessment, then the assessment agency decides whether domestic assistance is required and issues a Care Plan if approved. The plan identifies the approved period, tasks, co-payment and contracted provider. Call 1300 550 450 to discuss an assessment.
What can a household-cleaning quote include?
Agreed kitchen, bathroom, living-area, bedroom and laundry tasks can be discussed. The actual quote should name the work and exclusions. Do not assume a one-off deep clean, specialist treatment or extra task is approved under VHC simply because ordinary domestic assistance is available.
Can I have the same cleaner each visit?
We aim to arrange the same cleaner for repeat visits where possible. Ask us about this when booking repeat visits.
Can I ask about cleaning for a parent who served?
Yes. An authorised family member or carer can make an enquiry and help describe the household tasks. VHC assessment, care-plan approval, provider allocation and any co-payment remain separate decisions.
Which areas do you cover?
Smurfettes provides cleaning across Australia. Tell us the exact address and requested tasks for a quote and appointment check. A DVA-funded visit also depends on the applicable program process and named provider.
