Describe the work and shared areas
A request can name reachable bathroom or kitchen surfaces, a floor area, dusting or other indoor cleaning. List priority rooms, task order, product preferences and items that must not be moved, opened or treated. Cupboard or appliance interiors, high-access work, heavy-item movement and specialist treatment need separate discussion. In a shared home, identify the participant’s rooms and any shared area requested. Tell us who can approve tasks, time or price changes. A person who provides access is not automatically authorised to change the quote.
Protect privacy and agree access
Share only practical information needed for the cleaning decision, such as a pathway that must stay clear or a surface-care instruction. Keep unrelated health details, a complete NDIS plan, identity documents, keys and access codes out of the first enquiry. If entry details are needed for a confirmed visit, agree the minimum information, recipient and secure delivery method. Also agree when the minimum key, code or entry information should no longer be retained.
Check the quote and funding
Review the written quote for the address, tasks, preferences, exclusions, time, price and any product, equipment, travel or minimum-time charge. Ask for changes in writing before work or price changes. Confirm applicable cancellation or rescheduling terms. NDIS funding depends on disability support needs, the plan and current rules. Smurfettes Service Pty Ltd is a registered NDIS provider for Household Tasks. This registration does not determine whether an individual request can be funded. For NDIA-managed funding, check current provider and booking requirements with the appropriate contact. For plan-managed or self-managed arrangements, confirm invoice and record details.
Rent, bond obligations, routine property repairs and tenancy-compliance costs are separate from NDIS household cleaning. Vacate or exit cleaning needs a separate task list and written quote. As a general rule, NDIS funding does not cover exit cleaning that is a direct cost of meeting a tenancy agreement. Limited transitional exceptions may apply to certain existing plans; ask your NDIS contact to check whether an exception applies before booking. If you also need routine disability-related household cleaning around a move, describe those tasks separately and ask your authorised funding contact to check them against your plan before booking. A quote cannot guarantee a bond return. Ask for separate scope and price lines for private extras. Check the invoice against the accepted quote and service record, including tasks, time or quantity, rate, total and approved changes.
