Looking for help with laundry at your Albury home? Tell Smurfettes which clothing, linen or household textiles you need assistance with and whether you want help washing, drying, folding or putting items away. We can discuss the requested work and provide a quote after checking your address and preferred timing. An enquiry does not confirm availability, a booking or NDIS funding.

Laundry tasks to discuss

Your quote should explain which tasks are included: sorting, loading, washing, transferring, drying, folding, hanging, changing agreed linen or returning items to an agreed place. Let us know what matters most to you. If washing or drying will continue after the visit, agree how those items will be left safely and who will finish the remaining steps.

Care for your clothes and linen

Let us know about care labels, wash temperatures, colour-bleed risks, drying instructions and any products that must be used or avoided. Items with different care needs may need separate washes. They should not be mixed just to fill a machine.

Please point out hand-wash or dry-clean-only items, damaged textiles, heavy soiling and anything that needs specialist treatment. If a label is missing, a treatment is uncertain or a product conflicts with the care instructions, the item should be set aside for clarification. Specialist textile treatment is not automatically included.

Keep each person’s laundry separate

In a shared home, identify the participant’s items, other household members’ laundry and any shared linen. Tell us who can confirm the work to be included. A whole household’s laundry should not be assumed to be one participant’s NDIS support.

Products and equipment

Tell us who will supply detergent and other agreed products, where they will be kept and any restrictions that affect the work. For example, “use the labelled fragrance-free product” is enough; you do not need to share unrelated health details. If a required product is unavailable or unlabelled, ask how the affected task will be handled.

Describe the washing machine and dryer, their location and any known faults. The amount of laundry, separate washes, cycle times and available drying space will help us discuss the time needed. Final quantities depend on the actual items and equipment.

Where you would like items left

Let us know whether you want items folded into a basket, placed on a shelf, hung on a rack or returned to another agreed location. Please identify private rooms and storage areas that should not be entered. Where access is restricted, choose a suitable handover point.

Before the visit, agree whether items will be returned dry, left drying safely or folded at the handover point. If an item cannot be completed as planned, it should be left safely and brought to the attention of your chosen contact.

What to include in your enquiry

Share the exact Albury address, the laundry tasks you would like help with, an approximate quantity and your preferred timing. Mention stairs, pets, safe working space, permitted entry areas and communication preferences. These details help us assess the requested service; they do not establish NDIS eligibility.

Please tell us before the visit if the laundry, products, equipment, access or return instructions change. New items may need different care or more time, so any change to the agreed work should be confirmed first.

Separate costs and specialist work

Detergent purchases, replacement clothing, machine repairs, utility charges and specialist textile treatment are not automatically included in household-task assistance. Any proposed separate cost should be clearly identified, with responsibility and payment agreed before you accept it.

Check your NDIS funding

Household-task assistance may be considered only where the support relates to the participant’s disability needs and meets current plan and NDIS requirements. The participant or nominee should confirm the requested outcome. A plan manager, support coordinator or my NDIS contact can help check the plan, budget or payment pathway. Ask about current provider requirements where funding is NDIA-managed.

Review your laundry quote

Check that the quote includes the tasks, expected amount of laundry, product arrangements, equipment, drying and return instructions you discussed. It should also make exclusions clear. Ask for clarification if a task is missing, items with different care needs have been combined or shared household laundry has not been separated.
