Household cleaning

Use these guides to explore regular or occasional help with household cleaning. Tell us which rooms and tasks matter most, anything that should be left alone and whether another person or service already helps with the work. Only the tasks agreed in your written quote are included. Funding and appointment arrangements are confirmed for your request.

The written quote records what is included. Repairs, maintenance, gardening, pest work, hazardous material, clinical cleaning and tasks outside ordinary domestic cleaning need a different service or separate assessment.

Deep cleaning

For a heavier or more detailed clean, describe the home’s condition, the rooms and tasks you want assessed, and any hazards or access limits. Products, staffing, time and expected results need to be discussed for that particular quote.

Spring cleaning

For spring cleaning, list the rooms, task limits and priorities for a one-off visit. Check with the participant or authorised funding contact whether the requested disability-related support fits the plan and current funding rules.

One-off cleaning

Need help for a single visit? Tell us which tasks matter most, your preferred timing and any time or budget limit. The written quote should make clear what is included, what is excluded and how lower-priority tasks will be handled if the agreed limit is reached.

Vacate cleaning

For vacate, bond or end-of-tenancy cleaning, agree the tasks and a separate quote from your household-cleaning arrangement. As a general rule, NDIS funding does not cover exit cleaning that is a direct cost of meeting a tenancy agreement. Limited transitional exceptions may apply to certain existing plans; ask your NDIS contact to check whether an exception applies before booking. If you also need routine disability-related household cleaning around a move, describe those tasks separately and ask your authorised funding contact to check them against your plan before booking. Tenancy responsibilities and any other domestic supports need their own scope and separate pricing. A vacate quote does not promise a bond refund, inspection decision or property outcome.

Laundry assistance

For laundry help, describe the washing, drying, folding or linen tasks connected with your support needs. Include appliance access, care instructions and any household-supplied products. Product suitability, funding, timing and availability need to be checked for your request.

What to include when you contact us

  • Confirm the exact service address and preferred timing.
  • List the priority rooms, domestic tasks and anything that should not be touched.
  • Share practical access or communication instructions needed for the visit. Keep access codes and key locations private until a secure arrangement is agreed.
  • Provide the authorised invoicing contact and explain how the participant’s plan is managed if NDIS funding may be used.

Share only the participant-authorised information needed to assess and arrange the service. A diagnosis, full NDIS plan, medical records or account credentials are not needed for an initial enquiry.

Using your NDIS funding

Cleaning or laundry can use NDIS funding only if the proposed support is related to the participant’s disability, meets applicable funding criteria and is in line with the plan. For funding managed by the NDIA, the provider chosen for that support must be registered; self-managed and plan-managed participants can usually choose a registered or unregistered provider, subject to support-specific rules, and a plan manager must be registered. Smurfettes Service Pty Ltd is a registered NDIS provider for Household Tasks. Registration does not decide whether an individual support is payable, and the agreed household tasks still need a written quote and invoice.

Your written quote should confirm the address, agreed tasks and priorities, visit length or frequency, price, exclusions, access instructions, cancellation terms and invoicing contact. Check it before accepting, including who can approve the work and any responsibilities shared with other people or services. Funding and appointment arrangements must be confirmed separately.

The scope for a shared home should identify the participant’s rooms, agreed shared areas and domestic tasks related to their needs. It should not shift ordinary work belonging to other residents, a housing provider or another support service onto the participant’s funding.

Find information about plan management, referrals and cleaning in shared or supported homes. These national guides explain the wider arrangements; your own plan, requested work and address still need to be checked.
