If you are planning a one-off NDIS cleaning visit in Alice Springs, tell Smurfettes how you would like questions handled. Agreeing the main tasks and instructions beforehand can reduce interruptions while keeping you in control of any changes. We will check your address and requested timing before a booking is confirmed.
Choose how you prefer to communicate
You may prefer to settle most details before the visit, nominate someone to answer questions, discuss non-urgent points together or receive written options. Tell us what works for you. Practical communication preferences can be explained without providing a diagnosis.
Agree the main details before the visit
- Before the visit: discuss the tasks and instructions needed for the quote.
- On arrival: confirm any access or household details that may have changed.
- During the visit: agree a suitable time to discuss non-urgent questions if needed.
- If an answer is unavailable: leave the affected task aside rather than guessing.
If a task is likely to raise several questions, discuss them in advance or leave that task out until the details are clear. This helps keep the one-off visit manageable.
Describe the tasks and important instructions
Name the room or item, the cleaning requested and any important limit. Include product, access, movement or privacy instructions that affect the task. Clear directions help avoid repeated questions during the clean.
Nominate the right contact
Tell us who may answer practical questions or approve a particular change, and how and when they can be reached. This may be the participant, nominee, child representative or another authorised contact. A support coordinator, plan manager, cleaner or family member can approve household decisions only where that authority has been given.
Agree what to do if a question cannot be answered
If the authorised contact cannot answer, the cleaner should keep to the agreed work, use an already agreed smaller option or defer the affected task. They should not add time, enter another area, move an unlisted item, change a product or increase the price without approval.
Confirm any changes on arrival
On arrival, confirm access, the starting area, agreed supplies and anything that has changed since the quote. There is no need to repeat instructions already settled. If a change affects safe or authorised work, clarify that task before it begins.
Reduce unnecessary interruptions
If useful, agree a time to discuss non-urgent questions, such as after the first area is cleaned or before an optional task. Other feedback can wait until the end of the visit. A safety, permission or task-limit question still needs attention before the affected work continues.
Share only relevant information
Provide the details needed for the quote, access and cleaning instructions. Do not send plan documents, health history, photographs, access codes or unrelated household information simply because it might be useful later. Ask who needs any requested detail and for what purpose.
Check the quote and communication arrangements
Check the included tasks, exclusions, price and planned time. Tell us the preferred contact and how you want questions or changes handled. Optional or unresolved work should remain separate until it is agreed.
NDIS funding for your one-off cleaning
Whether a support can be paid from an NDIS plan is a separate funding decision. Check that the cleaning relates to disability support needs, is included or otherwise permitted under the current plan, and follows the applicable management rules. Ask the plan manager, support coordinator or my NDIS contact when uncertain. A household contact should not be expected to decide an NDIS funding rule during the visit.
Plan management and payment records
For self-managed funding, confirm the evidence needed before paying and claiming. For plan-managed funding, provide the plan manager with the written scope and quote details they require. Before using NDIA-managed funds, ask the authorised funding contact to confirm current my-provider and registration requirements for the proposed business. A quote and invoice document the transaction; they do not create funding approval.
Discuss extra work before adding it
An extra task may affect the work, time, price or funding arrangements. Ask for those details to be clarified and approved by the relevant person before it is added. If they cannot be confirmed, leave the task for a later discussion.
Get a clear update after the clean
Ask which tasks were completed, changed or left for another time. Check the invoice against the work supplied and any changes you approved. Keeping a short update can also help if you want to discuss a future visit.
Choose a service arrangement that works for you
When comparing quotes, use the same tasks and communication preferences. Ask how questions will be handled and what happens if your nominated contact is unavailable. Check both the cleaning proposed and whether the communication arrangements suit you. Availability still needs to be confirmed for the address.
