Need household-cleaning help in Canberra? Tell Smurfettes which rooms and tasks you would like cleaned, how often help is needed and anything that should be left alone. We can discuss your priorities and check the exact address before preparing a written quote. An enquiry does not confirm a booking or NDIS funding.

The rooms you want included

Name the rooms and household areas you would like cleaned, and explain any access or privacy limits in words.

Areas to include

Identify the exact room or part of the room you want cleaned. In an apartment or shared property, distinguish the participant’s private space, agreed indoor shared areas and building common property.

Areas needing permission first

Tell us if cleaning an area depends on another resident’s permission, a building arrangement or a decision still to be made. That work should wait until the appropriate person has confirmed it.

Areas and items to leave alone

Identify closed rooms, other residents’ belongings, medication storage, paperwork or fragile items that should not be entered or touched. Share only the information needed to explain the boundary.

Choose your cleaning priorities

Tell us about:

  1. The rooms and surfaces you would like cleaned.
  2. The cleaning tasks you need help with.
  3. Anything that should not be touched or moved.
  4. Any limits or particular instructions for the requested work.

For a bathroom, you might prioritise the toilet, vanity and reachable floor while excluding a medicine shelf. For a kitchen, you might choose the sink, bench and floor. Let us know whether appliances or items on a bench may be moved. Specific tasks such as vacuuming, mopping and wiping help make the quote clear.

Repairs, pest treatment, mould assessment or remediation, hazardous contamination, clinical cleaning, restoration, heavy-item movement and work beyond safe reach need separate assessment. They are not included simply because the affected room is being cleaned.

Your authorised contact

Tell us who can approve extra tasks, changes to private-area access or a different price, and how to contact them. An entry contact, housemate, support worker, receptionist or building manager is not automatically authorised to make those changes.

If that person cannot be reached, only already agreed work should continue where safe. An unresolved area should be left unchanged rather than assuming one task can be exchanged for another.

Access and preferred timing

Include the exact Canberra address, unit number, stairs or lift, parking or loading limits, pets and preferred contact method. Mention any reception or key-collection arrangement without sending keys, codes, identity documents, account credentials or a full plan in the first enquiry.

Let us know whether you want one visit or regular assistance. For recurring help, choose which tasks should be included each time and tell us when your needs change. A preferred day, duration or frequency needs written confirmation and does not guarantee every requested task will fit.

Check NDIS funding and payment details

Household cleaning may be an NDIS support when the assistance is related to the participant’s disability, meets current NDIS support rules and is in line with the approved plan and relevant budget. A task list or quote cannot make an excluded or unapproved item fundable. The participant, nominee or other authorised funding contact should check the proposed support before relying on plan funds.

Tell us how the relevant funding is managed and who should receive the invoice.

  • Self-managed: confirm who will purchase the support, pay the invoice and keep the relevant records.
  • Plan-managed: record the plan manager’s billing instructions. Participants using this pathway can generally choose a registered or unregistered provider unless the plan or a support-specific rule restricts that choice. The organisation providing plan management must be registered.
  • NDIA-managed: check registration before choosing the proposed provider, because this pathway limits purchases to registered providers.

The plan-management arrangement explains how payment is handled. It does not itself approve the cleaning tasks, confirm funding or establish Smurfettes’ registration status.

Review your written quote

Check the dated quote against your request: the exact address, included and excluded areas, tasks, items that should not be moved, timing or frequency, price, access, invoice recipient, authorised contact and cancellation or rescheduling terms.

Ask for a correction if an area needing permission has been included or an extra task appears. Keep the accepted quote with the service records and ask for any later change to be confirmed in writing.

Vacate or end-of-tenancy cleaning uses a separately quoted private-pay pathway rather than NDIS Household Tasks funding. A quote cannot promise a bond return, inspection result, unlimited task completion or a particular condition of the home.
